About Me

My name is John Balentine but friends call me “Jack”.  I was born in Boston, Massachusetts and grew up in upstate New York.  I returned to Boston to attend Babson College as an undergraduate and received my B.S. in Business Administration.  I worked and lived in Boston for sometime and came out here to Southern California in 1983 to visit some friends and take some classes.  I met my future wife at Grad school and I have remained here since.  I enjoy traveling and camping and I especially enjoy visiting campgrounds during the summer with my family in our tent trailer throughout the West.  I still return to the New England regularly to visit friends and family.

At one time, I would say that I was a few steps up on the “technology continuum” when I worked in IT during the 90’s.  For ten years, I designed Business Intelligence applications for various corporations.  But, I left that 12 years ago to open a small educational business and would find it extremely difficult to return to my old digs in IT today.  

I see Multimedia in Education as a way of "marrying" my two interests in education and technology.  I’m hoping to get some experience in website design with some of my friends who own businesses and maybe teach down the road.
